This week marks the start of the 2019 Grand National Festival at Aintree racecourse, Liverpool. With over 45,000 spectators expected to attend the event and millions more viewers tuning in across the globe, the Grand National is one of the biggest events in the horse racing calendar.
The three-day Grand National Meeting runs from 4th - 6th April 2019 with the Grand National Ladies Day taking place on Friday 5th April 2019.
Dubbed as #FabulousFriday, Ladies Day at the Grand National has always been a stylish event and as well as the top-class racing contests the attention on the other side of the track will include the glamorous "Style Awards".
The Style Awards take place in the Red Rum Garden where style ambassadors and fashionistas will mingle with the crowds in the hope of winning this coveted prize and with prizes such as cash, cars and holidays up for grabs, the 2019 Ladies Day Style Awards are expected to be a hotly fought contest.
Unlike Royal Ascot, there is no official dress code for Ladies Day at the Grand National but you can expect to see local celebrities from the Liverpool and Manchester areas such as Coleen Rooney making an appearance on the track wearing their best outfits and of course a stunning selection of Ladies Day hats and fascinators.
As the spectators gear up for Liverpool's most glamorous day we take a look back at the previous winners of the Grand National Style Awards.
19-year old Robyn May Quinn from Northern Island claimed the Ladies Day 2018 Style Award with judges impressed by her stunning nude floral dress and gold fascinator in the style of a tiara.
64-year old Faith from Carlow in Ireland has attended the Grand National for many years but has never scooped the Style Award prize until now. Her gorgeous hot pink outfit with red accents and a beautiful red fascinator bagged her a Range Rover Evoque worth over £35,000.
Scooping the prize of a £35,00 car and £8,000 to spend at Liverpool ONE, 25-year old Anna Gilderoy from Durgam has been crowned the winner of Aintree's Ladies Day Style Awards 2016 at the Crabbie's Grand National Festival. Her pretty cream and gold damask print dress and gold hair fascinator looked sensational.
At Fascinators Direct we can't wait to see what this year's winner will be wearing. Shop the look and view our 2019 top picks of fascinators for the races and Ladies Day hats and fascinators.
